Camille Beecher-Wilson came to the UK in 2018 to continue her career in nursing and currently works at Waverly House in Leominster as the home’s deputy manager and clinical lead nurse. Her passion to work in social care stems from wanting to have long term effect on someone’s quality of live, particularly those who have dementia.

She is motivated by giving continuity of care and longevity to residents. Camille says she goes to work but still feels like she’s at home.

Camille is extremely proud to work in care. And no more so, than during the pandemic, during which she was like family for people when their own families weren’t able to physically be there.

If someone is considering a career in care, Camille says if you have a heart and you genuinely care, come to care. She emphasises the diversity of the sector, highlighting both the direct and indirect care roles that are available.
