Are you looking for a rewarding career? There’s never been a better time to consider a career in the care sector with a range of roles available.

If you’re a great listener with a caring personality and enjoy helping others, then working in adult social care could be the career for you.

Herefordshire Cares is supporting those looking for a new career, including anyone who has not previously thought of a role in the care sector. You could be one of those special people who make a real difference to the lives of people that need care and support. It’s an important role and with the support of your employer you will grow and develop professionally and personally on your learning journey.

The diversity of care work also means you can find a role that fits around your existing commitments, giving you the flexibility to carry on spending time with your family and friends and doing the things that you enjoy before or after work.

Ryan said: “I applied to work at a nursing home and I had a really good manager who pushed me to do well. I love my job because I find I can give more to the people who need it in their own homes. I’ve learnt my skills as I’ve gone along. For me the most important part of the job is knowing my client is safe and happy.”

Harry said: “I’ve been working in the care sector for 20 years and it’s the only type of job that I’ve really enjoyed. Care work is hard work but it’s also very rewarding emotionally and spiritually. No day is the same and you get to make a real difference to someone’s life.”

Tommy Powell is an Assessment and Review Officer and has been working in care since leaving school. He supports people with lots of different conditions, particularly young adults. “I’ve been working for Hoople Care for 2 years now. I really enjoy my job and the feedback I receive tells me that I’m really making a difference.”
